introductionThe “2008 (Fourth) International Exhibition on Water Treatment Chemicals and Water soluble polymer ” will be held during 27-28 October 2008 at Shanghai Mart. As a universally-recognized authoritative grand gathering, the previous exhibition had a floor area of over 10 000 m2 and enterprises participating in the exhibition came from over 10 countries and regions of the world. There were more than 200 domestic and foreign exhibitors and 42 of them were foreign companies. Well-known domestic and foreign enterprises such as Ashland, Mitsubishi Chemical, Mitsui Chemical, SNF of France, Dow Chemical, Dow Corning, Mitsui & Co., Ltd., 3F CHMICA S.P.A of Italy, SREE RAYALASEEMA of India, Kolon of Korea, Beijing Hengju, Anhui Tianrun, Shandong Baomo, Beijing Tianqing, Changzhou Kewei and Connect all participated in the exhibition. 5 832 professional visitors from 21 countries including more than 500 overseas visitors were attracted to the event. The exhibition covered more than 20 sectors such as oilfield, petrochemical, papermaking, metallurgical, power, textile, food, detergent, coal mine and municipal sewage sectors. Several technical exchanges were held during the exhibition to actively promote the application of various specialty chemicals in downstream sectors. The Chemical Industry Daily Press of Japan as an overseas supporter made well-targeted publicity of water treatment chemicals and paper chemicals in 2007 and organized groups to participate in the exhibition. Exhibitors from Japan set a high value on the exhibition. The 2008 exhibition on water treatment will further expand cooperation and set up a special area for water treatment technologies from Japan to attract more Japanese enterprises in water treatment technologies to take part in the exhibition and more visitors to make purchases.
