New Trends in China Wastewater Treatment
According to statistics by China Urban Water Supply and Water Drainage Association, Up to May 2008, there've already 1,365 urban sewage treatment plants existing in China. Urban sewage treatment plants in operation produce around 26.62 million tons of slurry with a water content of 80% a year and the amount is expected to reach 36.65 million tons in 2010. An extensive market is therefore provided to flocculating agent producers. Based on the requirements defined in the Eleventh Five-year Plan, China will still be in the period of rapid development in the next 5 years for the construction of urban sewage treatment plants and the treatment of sewage. The development in the production of special flocculating agents for water treatment processes and slurry dehydration processes in urban sewage treatment plants will surely be promoted.

Organized by China National Chemical Information Center, Shanghai Water Drainage Association and China Functional Polymer Association, Application Manual information are collected among main flocculating agents manufacturers in China and abroad which were first released during the 2008 exhibition. It offers to urban sewage treatment plants as a reference with regards to flocculating agents’ producer, commodity name, type and form, physical property, chemical property, manufacturing method, toxicity and safety, product application method, packaging specification, production cost and relevant economic information, application sector and contact method. Aiming at collecting manufacturer’s information, promoting WTC exhibitors and their products, this manual would effectively build a bridge between producers and sewage treatment plants to serve more plants in China.
